News From Lorna Miller

I'm the only British contributor among 25 of the best comic artists working today in a graphic novel for a new box set of The Ramones by Rhino Records. It's called Weird Tails of The Ramones.
See the commercial here : http://www.ramones.com/
I've also just completed a sick viral game for Bizarre Magazine.

How-to art and design books in graphic-novel style

Ilex Press, the UK's leading publisher of illustrated books on digital art and design, is developing a new series of practical how-to titles on creative digital photography, illustration, cartooning, animation and web design. The books will be in the style of graphic novels, and will feature two principal characters called the Pixel Twins who act as guides and teachers.

We are looking for a cartoonist/comics illustrator to help us develop the style for the series, work up the look and personality of the characters, and create material for advance sales presentations.

If this sounds like you, please email Alan Buckingham, Commissioning Editor, with web links to representative samples of your work to alanbuckingham@blueyonder.co.uk

Comic strips for iPod owners

You can read comics on your iPod, thanks to Clickwheel.
Clickwheel has developed new RSS-based technology to let owners of colour-screen iPods subscribe to digital comics, in the same way as they subscribe to a podcast. The software costs $24.95, and the company has also released several episodes from its current series of comics for users to carry and read on their iPods.

Built using QuickTime, Clickwheel software allows users to search, grab and display comics or cartoons that have been created for the iPod.

Registered users enjoy free and immediate access to all the comics - along with the option to download them to an iPod, while unregistered users have only limited access to the comics.

A Windows version of the software is in development, the company said.
