‘Your world is manipulated by computer coding, search engines and social networks. It’s just a matter of time before everything you watch, read and listen to will be created by autonomous machines.’
Our guests at this special leap year gathering of Cartoon County on Monday 29th March are Mike French and Karl Brown who are coming to talk about their new anthology An Android Awakes. Mike is a novelist who has been twice nominated for the Arthur C Clarke SF literature award and Karl is the artist in residence at the Luton Library Theatre. Alex Fitch, who will be interviewing the two authors at the jolly Scandi-noir pub, The Northern Lights, says that they ‘follow in the footsteps of Andrzej Klimowski and Brian Selznick by mixing short stories and silent comic strips, to see if you can make a graphic novel by putting the words and pictures on separate pages.’ Comics, chat, creators, ideas, Nordic treats from the bar and two dozen flavoured vodkas - come and join us at Northern Lights, 6 Little East Street
