Sun Still Shining
From Peter Poole :
SUNNY DAYS - the DVD!
A DVD is now available of Sunny Days ( see earlier entry in this section of the site : DL ) written by Peter Poole and directed by Susan Moss. The play appeared as a reading at the NVT in Brighton in November, featuring an excellent cast: Steve Robertson, Stephen Evans, Lyn Fernee, Alistair Lock and Lisa Feldman.
Sunny Days tells the story of a new social worker, who arrives in a house for vulnerable youngsters. The effects are more disruptive than helpful. There are moments of comedy and drama, with a surreal edge at times.
The DVD has the whole ninety-minute reading, plus two extra features: these explain how the script was written, and show the original comic strip which inspired the play.
The Sunny Days DVD is £5 including post from:
Dream Power Pictures, PO Box 521, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 6HY
(cheques / postal orders to 'Dream Power Pictures' please)

Drawing Attention
From Myfanwy Nixon :
I'd be grateful for a mention of my new drawing blog/website www.drawanyway.com on the site.
The idea is that it is for people with no time or no confidence to draw. It offers suggestions for a task each day which promises to take less than ten minutes, and it's been quite touching so far to see people have a go when previously they swore blind they couldn't draw at all. Now, clearly, almost everyone in the CC network can draw perfectly well, but equally they might have friends or family who are forever looking over their shoulders and wailing that they'd like to be able to draw, too. Or, like me, they might be so rushed for time that the idea of a short, sharp scribble each day appeals.

Mid-Summer Fayre
CC network member, Steve Carroll, tells us the next part of the historical graphic novel series he's written, Riddlers Fayre ,will be in the bookstores and on Amazon in July. Retailers and readers are currently being reminded once more to check out the first part of the saga from publisher Usharp, which has had some nice reviews, and is still available . We're pleased to be part of this sleeve-tugging exercise. Here's the cover of the first album.
