Come and join a brilliant weekend of presentations and panels on 'Drawing in the Margins' - comics with a difference and about difference, at the University of Brighton's flagship Sallis Benney Theatre. Organised by our very own Alex Fitch, of Resonance FM, and his colleagues Barbara Chamberlin and Paul Slater at the University of Brighton, the weekend promises a stellar bunch of cartoonists including Emma Vieceli, Gareth Brookes, Karrie Fransman, Warren Pleece, Francesca Cassavetti, Dan Locke and many, many more. Panels on Saturday address multiculturalism, ageing, pregnancy and motherhood, homelessness, and the status of comics as a medium. Details on the Graphic Brighton website

The weekend kicks off on the Friday night at 6.45 with a panel about gay manga, with Inko, Chie Kutsuwada and Ilya, followed by local publisher Myriad's
Quick Strips gala at 8.30, with no fewer than 14 cartoonists presenting their work in 5 minutes each. Compered by Nye Wright, the evening is entirely free, and a brilliant opener to what promises to be a fascinating weekend. Book
